Ching Shih

Ching Shih (1775-1844) is widely considered to be the most successful pirate of all time. She ran a fleet known as the "Red Flag Fleet" of 70-80k pirates, evading the Chinese government for decades. Finally surrendering herself in her older age for a negotiated lump sum of money so that she and her troops could keep their earned treasure, they walk away entirely unscathed. She used her reward money to open a casino, which she ran until her passing. Ching Shih is an orris and incense-focused scent, with a touch of osmanthus. Ching Shih plays in the shadows; she’s watery and elusive. At the same time, she’s the embodiment of power, and the master of her own fate.
