"7 Lovers; one for each of her favourite men in her seven favourite cities. There is one named for her urban night-owl boyfriend, Kar-wei, in Hong Kong; another for Lawrence in Dubai, who likes to dab scent into the hollow of her clavicle; then there is the tango-dancing bit-of-all-right called Sebastian in Buenos Aires. “Unfortunately, they are fantasy lovers,” she says, “But I know these cities very well and I try to think of someone I might have met in these places – the way they talk, the way they walk. Each of the names has an important connection for me.”
